This very fine sword is Hungarian, late 19 C. probably a presentation sword. Finely forged fullered blade 31 inches long engraved with sun and moon and a shield as well as images of a royal (??) couple with the engraved inscription: PATRONA HUNGARIA. Engraved and gilded silver handle and scabbard fitting with lion head pommel. The handle and scabbard fittings are decorated with filigree silver panels on gold background, set with gemstones, pearles and enameled flowers. Total length 38 inches. Very good plus condition
