Very Good Takouba - Sword of the Tuareg - 6624
An old Takouba, the sword of the Tuareg with a high quality blade probably of European origin. The length of the blade is 28 inches, 2 inches wide with an engraved ricasso and three narrow central fullers. The blade is marked with the face in a lunar circle in a quality indicating a possible German origin. The hilt is of the classical Takouba design and entirly covered with brass decorated in geometrical design. The scabbard is tooled green and red leather with pierced and engraved iron fittings on green and red background. Very good condition with few pitted spots on the blade. Total length35 ½ . A sword of quality compared to the many Takouba apears on the market.
