Good Kaskara with a European (?) Military Blade - 6625
A very interesting and old Kaskara sword from Sudan Area. The blade is a secondary use of a military sword blade, possibly German or British, 31 ½ inches long , stamped on the spine of the ricasso with a crown and cross (?) and the letter C below it (hardly seen). The blade is etched with faint Arabic inscription. The Cross guard is brass and the grip is wood bound with sinew strips. No scabbard. Total length 37 inches. Very good condition.
